This course aims to ensure that site-based traffic management is delivered safely and is done so of high quality. The course provides attendees with an understanding of the risks related to the movement of vehicles on site.
The course is suited to operatives who assist in the moving and loading/unloading of vehicles in their occupation.
The course will comprise of theoretical and practical instruction covering the following:
- Accidents – causes and prevention
- Acts and Regulations
- Understand the limitations of differing vehicles available
- Understand correct procedures in manoeuvring vehicles
- Banks man responsibilities
- PPE
- Safe systems of work
- Recognised signals
- Risk assessing the manoeuvre
- Planning the manoeuvre
- Practical applications of the course content
On completion of training candidates will have a theoretical understanding of the following:
- Responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, PUWER 98
- Banks-man safety code
- Banks-man procedures
- Risk of vehicle movements
- Planning the manoeuvre
- Signal systems 3.7 Banks man PPE
Novice Courses: Ideal for a total beginner using their first forklift truck, and has no previous experience of Materials Handling Equipment.
Experienced Courses: For a forklift truck operator who has an extensive amount of experience; at least 12 months, however holds no current certification and has had no formal training.
Refresher Courses: Suited for the operators who are trained and certified, the refresher course allows them to take a test to renew their licence. Forklift certifications are valid for 3 years.
Conversion Course: Suited for operators who are trained and certified on certain forklifts. The conversion course allows them to expand their forklift licences on other types of trucks.
Our courses take place at our fully equipped training centre in Maidenhead, Berkshire.
We have a great location for those travelling on the M4/M3/M5 and the centre is also close to Heathrow.
