In the fast-paced world of construction and groundworks within the UK, dumper trucks play an indispensable role in transporting materials across sites efficiently. Dumper truck training is crucial in ensuring operators possess the necessary skills and understanding to drive and manoeuvre these hefty vehicles safely and competently. The training covers essential topics such as safe loading and unloading, hazard recognition, and on-site driving protocols.

As the UK regulations underscore the importance of adequate training for machinery operators to reduce workplace incidents, this bespoke training ensures both compliance and a higher standard of safety in operations involving dumper trucks.

This course consists of an instructor led training room presentation, written assessment, practical training and assessment.

  • Health & safety at work act 1974
  • Lifting operations and lifting equipment regulations 1998
  • Provision & use of work equipment regulations 1998.
  • Approved code of practice
  • Operator safety and observation
  • Pre-Shift checks & test
  • Defect reporting procedures
  • Truck stability – engineering principles and weight assessment
  • Driving within simulated working conditions
  • Manoeuvring skills-
  • Hydraulic system and use of the controls
  • Refueling procedures
  • Theory Test
  • Practical Test

Novice Courses: Ideal for a total beginner using their first forklift truck, and has no previous experience of Materials Handling Equipment.

Experienced Courses: For a forklift truck operator who has an extensive amount of experience; at least 12 months, however holds no current certification and has had no formal training.

Refresher Courses: Suited for the operators who are trained and certified, the refresher course allows them to take a test to renew their licence. Forklift certifications are valid for 3 years.

Conversion Course: Suited for operators who are trained and certified on certain forklifts. The conversion course allows them to expand their forklift licences on other types of trucks.

Our courses take place at our fully equipped training centre in Maidenhead, Berkshire. 

We have a great location for those travelling on the M4/M3/M5 and the centre is also close to Heathrow.
