IPAF Load+ and Unload Course

The IPAF Load and Unload Course is designed for individuals responsible for loading, securing, transporting, and unloading Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs), Mast Climbing Work Platforms (MCWPs), or Construction Hoists safely and efficiently.

This IPAF-accredited course ensures compliance with safety regulations and best practices, reducing the risks associated with loading and unloading equipment for transport. The IPAF Load+ (Plus) Course provides additional training for those handling more complex or specialist loading scenarios.

The IPAF Load and Unload (and Plus) training covers:

• Legal and safety requirements for transporting MEWPs and other access equipment.
• Vehicle and trailer stability considerations.
• Machine weight distribution and load securing techniques.
• Pre-loading inspections and risk assessment.
• Correct use of chains, straps, and other securing methods.
• Safe loading and unloading procedures to prevent tipping or shifting.
• Emergency procedures and hazard awareness.
• Additional safety and risk management training for IPAF Load+ (Plus) candidates.

Our courses take place at our fully equipped training centre in Maidenhead, Berkshire. 

We have a great location for those travelling on the M4/M3/M5 and the centre is also close to Heathrow. 

IPAF ePAL

The theory component of the course can be completed through a flexible e-learning platform, allowing participants to cover essential background knowledge at their own pace.

This approach significantly reduces the in-person training time, condensing the practical component into a focused half-day session, which typically begins at midday.

This format not only offers greater flexibility but also ensures that the on-site training can be more practically focused, enhancing overall learning outcomes.

Please note: It is a mandatory requirement that the e-learning module is completed and successfully passed prior to the course start date, as this foundational knowledge is essential for effective participation in the in-person session.
