What is a Moffett forklift truck?
A Moffett is a type of forklift truck that can be mounted to a lorry. With a Moffett or vehicle mounted forklifts, the driver can load and unload at destinations without having to wait for onsite forklift trucks or operators.
A Moffett forklift attaches directly to the back of a delivery vehicle, often articulated vehiclaes and it still leaves 100% of the space on the vehicle.
Vehicle mounted forklifts are particularly useful for situations where industrial forklifts are not available on company sites. They have very different characteristics to generic forklifts like counterbalances, so it is vital that operators receive the correct training for the specific truck they will be operating. Without the correct training or certification, operating a forklift unlicensed could result in a health and safety breach, or even an accident.
What training do we provide for Moffett forklifts?
Depending on experience, we can provide Novice, Experienced, Refresher or Conversion courses.
What do our Moffett courses include?
During our Moffett courses, we teach the delegates both the Practical and Theoretical side of training. This involves learning about Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and other relevant provisions, the operator’s safety code, and specific skills needed in order to perform tasks whilst operating on a lorry mounted forklift in order to keep anyone working with or around moffett’s, safe.
