Course Duration: Approx 60 minutes
With as many as 1 in 4 people in England experiencing a form of mental ill-health, this online awareness course has been created by a qualified Mental Health First Aider to provide a better understanding of what mental health is and how it can vary through the course of our lives.
This informative online course raises awareness of the stigma surrounding mental health, and correctly illustrates the different types of mental health conditions that are commonly reported to affect 1 in 6 people in any given week in England alone. Guidance is given throughout the course on how to recognise the changes in behaviour and identify the signs that may indicate that yours or a loved one’s mental health may be suffering. Common mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, phobias, psychosis, eating disorders, and many others are addressed in this course, as well as topics of self-harming, bullying and excessive stress, known as burnout.
With a rise in absence and sick leave due to poor mental health, this course also discusses how employers can provide better support to their employees, by promoting an open culture of communication, awareness and empathy, and welcoming the relevant legislation that applies to mental health in the workplace.
Finally, the course will provide learners with many accessible tools and resources on how to positively manage their mental wellbeing daily, access help, and also offer guidance on supporting others, who may be experiencing struggles with their mental health.
