This General Data Protection Regulations, or GDPR online course is suitable for anyone who wants to learn more about GDPR in the workplace. This certified training will guide you through the regulations that govern data privacy in the workplace, and what this means for your data.

Course Duration: approx 60 minutes

We share personal information and data every time we shop online, send an email or interact on social media. GDPR seeks to safeguard our data from corruption, compromise or theft. Data protection is about controlling how our personal data is used by businesses and governments. The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) became part of the UK’s Data Protection Act in 2018 and is still applicable post Brexit.

Everyone responsible for using personal data now has to follow strict principles, including keeping data secure. Failure to keep data secure can lead to serious data breaches causing significant financial damage to individuals and organisations.

The regulations also apply to employers who may process your personal data at different stages of the employment relationship, for example, during the recruitment process.

This course gives a general overview of data protection and GDPR in the workplace, including what the regulations like the Data Protection Act 2018 mean for treatment of personal data by employers and other third parties working on their behalf.
