Health and safety in the workplace: what you need to know
Health and safety in the workplace: what you need to know The purpose of health and safety law is to ensure a safe working environment
Course Duration: 95 minutes
People at work can suffer injuries or be taken ill and it is important to give them immediate attention or call an ambulance in serious cases. It can save lives and prevent minor injuries leading to major ones. The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and training to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work.
This online first aid in the workplace course can keep your workplace compliant by providing the essential skills to anyone in a workplace or at home. A first aid emergency can happen at any time, and this course aims to provide the confidence and knowledge needed to act successfully as a first contact responder in an emergency situation.
Knowing how to recognise signs and symptoms, correctly assist casualties, treat their condition and getting help are all skills that can help save lives. This certified training provides learners with the knowledge and competency to be able to not only deliver immediate first aid care within a workplace setting, it also provides the skills to recognise these emergency situations and take confident, appropriate actions where required.
Please note that this e-learning is an awareness course that provides learners with theoretical knowledge of emergency first aid practices; it does not, however, replace competency-based, practical training, nor qualify you as a first aider. If you are looking to qualify as a first aider, please visit our first aid practical training page. Always seek medical advice in case of emergency.
