Course Duration: Approx 15 minutes
Asbestos is a fire resistant material which was widely used in construction and insulation prior to 2000. It was discovered to be dangerous when damaged or disturbed and is no longer used. However, many premises constructed prior to 2000 still contain significant quantities of asbestos. Workers who may be involved in maintenance, repairs or refurbishments need to be aware of what asbestos is, why it is dangerous and what to do if it is discovered including emergency procedures.
For those working in construction and the demolition or refurbishment of buildings, it is important to be aware of asbestos risks and how to deal with them.
This asbestos awareness course has three short modules that cover what asbestos is, how it is used, the health risks associated with exposure, the laws that govern managing asbestos safely and what to do if asbestos is suspected or discovered in the workplace.
This online training will take approx 15 minutes to complete, and has no expiry date. Upon successfully completing the multiple choice final assessment, you will have immediate access to your free, downloadable asbestos awareness certificate.
Our health and safety online courses are fully CPD certified and created to the highest standard with clear images, videos, quizzes and diagrams to ensure all delegates have a clear understanding of the topic they are learning.
Please note, this asbestos course is an awareness course and further training may be required depending on your role.
