The course aids you in finding out what the roles and responsibilities of an appointed person are, learn about The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, how to check, maintain and restock first aid kits, how to take charge of the scene in an emergency, including calling emergency services and how to keep records of incidents.
By the end of this course, your will also have a better understanding of what is expected of you in a medical emergency and what your legal responsibilities are as an appointed person.
Please note that this e-learning is an awareness course that provides learners with theoretical knowledge of emergency first aid practices; it does not, however, replace competency-based, practical training, nor qualify you as a first aider. This online First Aid course is suitable for anyone who has been selected for the role of Appointed Person in the workplace, or anyone exploring the possibility of becoming one.
For those looking to expand their knowledge, this course works well alongside our First Aid in the Workplace online training, or online Paediatric First Aid training for those in childcare settings.
The aim of this course is to provide theoretical knowledge necessary to educate a designated person on their responsibilities within the company to become an Appointed Person in First Aid.
By the end of this course, learners will be able to better understand their role and responsibilities as the ‘Appointed Person’, while recognising what to do in potential medical emergencies, if ever required in the workplace.
