In every food business there are food hazards which can pose health risks to consumers; for example, bacteria can thrive under certain conditions and cause food to become contaminated.

In order to safeguard the public from foodborne illnesses, it is a legal requirement to have a food management plan.

HACCP is an internationally recognised standard for food management and helps food business operators to analyse, control and monitor potential food hazards in their business.

This course will give you general awareness of food management plans and in particular HACCP.

Food safety and hygiene is of utmost importance for businesses, as it helps to protect the health of consumers from foodborne illnesses and food poisoning. 

Whether we’re buying a pre-packed sandwich from a supermarket or being served a school dinner, we all want to be confident that the food has been prepared and handled to the highest standards.

The Government sets out legislation to ensure that businesses who are involved in the preparation, handling and serving of food know their responsibilities and can train their staff appropriately.

This course is aimed at anyone employed in the food business who does not directly prepare or handle food for example, waiters, bar tenders, delivery drivers and checkout staff.
