Aims and Learning Outcomes
The course is designed to raise awareness of the dangers associated with working in a confined space. Each module covers the steps to understanding the key legislation, the risks, control measures and emergency procedures that apply to workers in a confined space.
Once this course is completed, learners will:
- Have a good knowledge of their own legal responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work, etc. Act 1974, the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, the Confined Spaces Regulations 1997 and the additional related legislation
- Understand the importance and the process of conducting risk assessments on the work that needs to be carried out in a specific confined space
- Be aware of the dangers involved in working in confined spaces and understand how to adopt and follow the appropriate control measures
